Rachel Matheson is the ASIC Program Coordinator and has a passion for sustainable food systems and gender equality, which she has fostered through her work on research projects in Canada and Uganda. Her MA thesis is focused on how urban agricultural training programs in Uganda can impact women's access to and control over resources, decision-making power, and social and economic well-being. Rachel has previously worked and volunteered with numerous gender and food justice initiatives across Canada. Rachels holds a B.A. in Global Development Studies from Queen's University and an M.A. in International Development Studies from Dalhousie University.
