Keith Andre is the owner and operator of Future Peche in the Seychelles. As a fisherman, his work engages him in fishing operations for the supply of tuna and swordfish to local and export markets. Andre also operates a small storage and processing plant.
Following his high school completion, Andre interned as a fisherman for six months before leaving for France to pursue a Diploma in Fisheries and Navigation Technology and a Fishing Master Bachelor’s degree. Upon his return to the Seychelles, he began work as a Fish Master on a local fishing boat before buying his own vessels.
Andre is an advocate for sustainable small scale fisheries in the Indian Ocean, and currently serves as the President of the Federation des Pecheurs Artisans de l’Ocean Indien, which gathers artisanal fishers from Madagascar, The Seychelles, Mauritius, Comoros, and La Reunion.
