George Woodman is the founder and director of Teng Hoi Conservation Organization, an non-governmental organization founded in 2003. Prior to founding Teng Hoi, George pioneered the development of underwater bomb detection systems after being subjected to fish bombing during a reef monitoring expedition in Sabah, Malaysia. George has led a partnership with the Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels Group since 2016 to develop a tool for enabling procurement of sustainable and traceable seafood. George also helped to drive through the Hong Kong Sustainable Seafood Symposium in May 2017 in partnership with ADM Capital Foundation, leading to the establishment of the Hong Kong Sustainable Seafood Coalition. George is an established marine conservationist and water quality specialist, holding a PhD in Physics from Oxford University.
