Andrew Jackson is currently Chairman of the governing board of IFFO RS, the global standard for the responsible production of marine ingredients. Over 40% of the worlds marine ingredients have now been approved as coming from certified factories which have been third party audited to IFFO RS. In 2015 he was awarded the Seaweb Leadership Award at the New Orleans Seafood Summit, for his role in the development and advocacy of the IFFO RS standard. Andrew retired from the role of Technical Director of IFFO, the Marine Ingredient Organisation, at the end of 2016, a position he had held for nearly 10 years. Before joining IFFO he worked for nearly 20 years in the salmon farming industry in both Scotland and Chile for Marine Harvest. For a number of years he was also Chairman of the Scottish Salmon Producers Organisation. His background is as a fish nutritionist and he has worked in both Government and University laboratories; he is also the holder of a PhD from the University of Stirling in the UK.
