Seminar: Amplifying Worker Voice: Integrating Technology and Worker Engagement into Ethical Supply Chain Management
Globalization has profoundly influenced how companies do business, making transparency regarding fair working conditions more complex. As advancements in technology open new opportunities, industry leaders increasingly recognize the value of direct employee engagement in gaining visibility and improving worker well-being. Companies, labor experts, and seafood stakeholders are exploring how worker engagement mechanisms can benefit business operations while connecting to traceability and counter-IUU solutions. The emerging potential of electronic monitoring and electronic catch documentation and traceability (eCDT) systems to support and integrate into the implementation of worker voice is one example.
This not-to-be-missed interactive seminar will expand the sustainable seafood community’s understanding of the benefits of and pathways to ethical worker engagement through case studies, working groups, and expert guidance. Moving between plenary and breakout formats to maximize discussion, group problem solving and action planning, the session will be moderated by expert facilitators and speakers with strong technical understanding of worker engagement models as well as the realities of the sector.
