Plenary: Seafood Companies & a “DIY” Approach to Sustainability

The landscape of sustainable seafood is more dynamic and is changing faster than ever before, yet resources to support businesses that sell seafood are still lacking. While larger seafood businesses are often supported via close partnerships with non-profit organizations, smaller businesses have, to date, received much less attention and support. Larger businesses would more successfully meet their commitments if the companies in their supply chains had the tools, bandwidth, knowledge and ability to support them. Considering the reality of finite resources and capacity, smaller companies across the seafood supply chain need to find ways to move toward sustainable sourcing on their own. During this roundtable, we will facilitate an industry-centric discussion focused on efficient, budget-friendly approaches to seafood sustainability.
